Business Tax Returns
Annual federal and state business tax return preparation with all required schedules. When the same person who maintains your books prepares the return, nothing gets missed and nothing gets made up.
Books and Taxes
A tax return is only as good as the financial data behind it. If the books are wrong, the return is wrong. If transactions are miscategorized, deductions get missed or overstated. If accounts aren’t reconciled, the numbers on the return don’t match reality. The IRS doesn’t care whose fault it is. They care about what you filed.
When the person who maintains your books all year is the same person who prepares the return, there is no translation step. There is no handing off a messy file to a CPA in March and hoping they figure it out. The numbers are already clean. The categories are already right. The return gets built on a foundation that has been verified month by month.
No Surprises
No Surprises
If you have been getting monthly financial statements from us all year, you already know roughly what the tax picture looks like. There is no gut-wrenching moment in April where you find out you owe twice what you expected. You have had the data all along.
All Entity Types
All Entity Types
Sole proprietorships, single-member LLCs, multi-member LLCs, S-Corps, C-Corps, and partnerships. Federal returns and Arizona state returns with all required schedules. Whatever structure your business uses, we handle the filing.
The Handoff Problem
Most small business owners in the Phoenix area use one person or firm for bookkeeping and a completely different person for taxes. Every year there is a scramble. The tax preparer asks for documents the bookkeeper already has. The bookkeeper sends a file the tax preparer doesn’t understand. Things get lost in between. Deadlines get tight. Extensions get filed.
That disconnect costs you money. A tax preparer who only sees your books once a year doesn’t know the story behind the numbers. They don’t know that the large deposit in June was a loan, not revenue. They don’t know that the equipment purchase in October qualifies for a specific deduction. They are working with a snapshot instead of the full picture.
Missed Deductions
Missed Deductions
A tax preparer working from a year-end data dump will categorize things conservatively because they don’t have context. Legitimate business expenses get overlooked or lumped into the wrong category. You end up paying more than you should because nobody took the time to understand the details.
The Extension Cycle
The Extension Cycle
When books aren’t ready by filing deadlines, the default move is to file an extension. That kicks the can down the road but doesn’t solve the problem. You still owe the same taxes. You might owe penalties and interest on top of it. And now you are dealing with tax season stress in October instead of April.
How This Works
If we handle your bookkeeping during the year, the tax return is a natural extension of that work. The books are already reconciled and categorized. We review everything one final time at year end, make any necessary adjustments, and prepare the return. You review it, approve it, and we file it. No drama.
If you are not a monthly bookkeeping client, we can still prepare your return. But the books need to be clean first. If they aren’t, we will scope a cleanup project to get them in order before we start on the tax work. We won’t file a return based on numbers we don’t trust.
Year-End Review
Year-End Review
Before the return is prepared, we do a thorough review of the full year. We verify depreciation schedules, confirm estimated tax payments, check for any transactions that need reclassification, and make sure the books are closed properly. The return gets built from numbers we have personally verified.
One Point of Contact
One Point of Contact
You don’t have to play middleman between your bookkeeper and your tax preparer. You talk to one person who knows your business, knows your books, and knows what happened financially over the past twelve months. Questions get answered fast because the context is already there.
